1. GROUP Technologies` new solutions cause a stir at CeBIT 2008
GROUP`s appearance at this year`s event was a showcase for innovative e-mail solutions. The GROUP stand welcomed over 200 technical experts keen to see for themselves the latest in e-mail management solutions. We saw yet again that customers and potential customers are very keen on achieving integration of e-mail security and e-mail archiving.
With regard to e-mail archiving in particular, solutions that lessen the loads placed on servers and mailboxes and that provide a tamper-proof, complete storage facility are proving most popular. One useful solution that GROUP has come up with is iQ.Suite Find, which offers a speedy and reliable way to retrieve e-mails stored in archives and mailboxes.
Another innovation that grabbed a lot of attention, a confidentiality solution this time, was iQ.Suite WebCrypt. The large number of visitors to the stand were extremely interested in the idea of e-mail encryption without any need for certificates or keys.
For those interested in efficient Domino/Notes management, GROUP was able to present yet another innovation. Potential customers were very impressed with iQ.Suite ClientAdmin’s ability to manage complex Domino/Notes environments centrally and in real time.

2. Tipps & Tricks of iQ.Suite for Lotus Domino: Automated management of iQ.Suite Clerk database documents
Using iQ.Suite Clerk, every user can create, manage and delete their own deputy configuration. Activation and deactivation is also carried out by the users themselves; although deactivation/deletion in particular is often performed only very sporadically. Most users actually create an additional document for every absence. This means that the database keeps on growing, and the performance of the Clerk module becomes increasingly worse, as the validity of every active document has to be checked.
It is therefore vital to keep the number of documents within reasonable limits and to deactivate those documents which have expired. This can really only be resolved in an automated way. A new function in iQ.Suite Clerk 11 and an Action Database Job can assist you with this.
Read here to find out more about automating the management of your Clerk database.
iQ.Suite Clerk is more than just a powerful absence management tool for your company. Together with iQ.Suite Wall, it forms an unbeatable combination that will analyse your e-mails, completely automatically, filter and pre-sort them and then channel them to the right places - whether to the person authorised to process them, the correct archive, the CRM system or the trash bin for spam mail.
Our training programmes can tell you the best way to set up this "dream team" and how to get the two solutions working in harmony. We look forward to seeing you there!
3. Why does external compliance management make sense?
The reasons are complex: The objective is to stop the infringement of legislation by company employees. The best way to do this is prevention, i.e. taking suitable and reasonable protective measures. The basis for this is a variety of laws, directives and rules. The fact that "corporate compliance" was included as a standard of good corporate governance in the German Corporate Governance Code means that account has been taken of this.
In the very recent past, an increasing number of companies in Germany have been receiving unwelcome visits from the tax office or the public prosecutor’s office. There are two painful outcomes of such visits: the fines that have to be paid and, perhaps more serious, the damage inflicted on a company`s image. It is rarely easy to assess reliably the effects of this type of damage, and in the short term the damage is very difficult to offset. How can a company deal with this problem?
The people who make the decisions in a company - COO, CFO, Managing Director, plant manager, departmental managers, etc. - have the following main responsibilities vis-à-vis the company:
- Increase the value of the company
- Avert possible risks and threats
- Exercise the necessary duty of care
Against this background, compliance issues are often regarded as a major "hindrance" and "non-beneficial" when it comes to achieving targets. Yet at the same time, it is important always to know how to handle the consequences of "non-compliance". As the person at the helm of your company, you are not only responsible for the consequences, but in cases of doubt you will also be personally liable. An insurance policy will not cover negligence and therefore does not offer adequate protection. That is why expert advice is indispensable. One more reason to get in touch with us ...
4. The Exchange/SMTP corner: How to redesign the web page for summary notification requests
