1. GROUP Technologies at Storage Expo 2008 in London
15 and 16 October the eagerly awaited Storage Expo 2008 - UK`s leading storage and information management event - is going to take place at London's Olympia Exhibition Center. For the first time, GROUP Technologies UK will be represented with a booth of its own. All aspects of legally secure e-mail management will once again be in the spotlight.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity of presenting our entire legally secure e-mail management portfolio to a wide audience," says Andreas Richter, Director International Marketing at GROUP Technologies. "Our expert visitors are set to gain a comprehensive insight into the world of efficient e-mail management via the leading mail platforms."
Visitors at the fair will have the chance to profit from the expertise of GROUP Technologies` e-mail specialists at GROUP booth 515, where they can find out about current requirements and opportunities in the field of corporate e-mail systems. The focus of attention will be on the central control of e-mail messaging as well as the intelligent linking of e-mail security and e-mail archiving.
Other topics of interest will include server offloading and the tamper-proof storage of business-critical e-mails. This is an area in which GROUP`s iQ.Suite provides the perfect solution to increasingly stringent corporate confidentiality and storage record requirements.

3. Slush funds and risk assessment
This month there are two interesting news items that are worth looking at briefly. A major decision has been made in the endless discussions about the Siemens case. The Federal Court of Justice in Germany has decided that simply keeping a slush fund is a breach of trust. This means it is irrelevant whether bribes have actually been paid or not. The existence of a slush fund alone is sufficient to break the law. Corporate governance policies can include system support to help prevent corruption and ultimately financial losses for the company.
Ernst & Young recently pointed out a second key issue in their Strategic Business Risk survey. It names regulation and compliance risk as the greatest strategic challenge facing global businesses. The survey puts this down to national and international laws and regulations and the spread of supply chains to cover the globe, necessitating compliance with additional requirements. The e-mail communication that this entails can benefit from centralized support, not only providing protection against spam, viruses, trojans and so on but also acting as an instrument to underpin corporate processes and organise e-mail correspondence easily and securely. We will be pleased to show you how this can be done with a suitable messaging system. Simply get in touch with us.
4. iQ.Suite Tips & Tricks for Lotus Domino: detecting and blocking fake mails
Spam, phishing and fake mails are terms that all have something in common. Such e-mails are sometimes difficult to detect and can cause productivity to drop. This applies especially to fake mails. Users are often surprised that they seem to have sent spam mails to themselves.
The iQ.Suite also covers this scenario with a reliable solution that will help you to detect and filter this special type of spam. Our training sessions regularly tell you how you can detect and filter spam like this with the iQ.Suite.
You will find an interesting way to reliably identify such e-mails from the Internet here.
5. Exchange/SMTP Corner: how to view e-mails with the details added by iQ.Suite Trailer
iQ.Suite Trailer is the perfect solution when it comes to integrating server-based legally compliant signatures, disclaimers or security information in outbound e-mails. However, this server-based approach means that Outlook users will see the e-mails in their Sent Items folder without the centrally added details.
Senders may need to be able to view entire e-mails including the details that iQ.Suite Trailer has added. You can find out how your company's employees can do this here.
